Roadways
Jagdalpur , the district head quarters of Bastar district is well connected by roads to all important cities and towns of the state and near by states as well. It is connected to the state capital , Raipur in the north by the National Highway ( NH – 49 ) and the distance is approximately 300 k.m. The same NH – 49 extends up to Vishakhapatnam in the east, the famous port city of Andhra Pradesh and the distance from Jagdalpur is 300 k.m approx.
Jagdalpur is also connected by state highways to the following major towns/cities of the state and neighbor states. Direct interstate bus services are also available from Jagdalpur to Vishakhapatnam , Rajahmundri , Hyderabad , Vijayawada, Jeypore and Koraput.
Railways
There is only a limited railway facility available at Jagdalpur . One railway line start from Kirandul(Dantewada Dist.) to Vishakhapatam which passes through Jagdalpur and other from Bhuvneshwar with passes through Jagdalpur. This railway line is broad gauge and completely electrified.
Only one passenger train (with sleeper coach) is running daily between Kirandul and Vishakhapatnam .The train journey is really enjoyable and funtastic which passes through breath-taking ghats and tunnels. Semiliguda , highest BG station of Indian railways falls on this route. All through the entire 10 hr journey , one can view beautiful and marvellous photographic scenaries on both sides.The 1.5 k.m long goods train full of iron ore pulled by a combination of 3 poweful electric engines provides a memorable sight. This railway line is mainly built for carrying iron ore from Kirandul(Bailadila) to Vishakhapatnam .

Airways
There is an airport at Jagdalpur but no scheduled services are currently run to or from here. The airport is predominantly used by political leaders and insurgency operation related activities by army and the police. The nearest airport is Raipur Airport in capital city of Raipur and Visakhapatnam Airport, Andhra Pradesh. It is very well connected to near by International Airport i.e. Hyderabad which is 550 KM away from Jagdalpur and nearest Domestic Airport is Raipur, which is 300 KM from Jagdalpur.
